Saint Paul Lutheran
Church was first established in 1871 in Fremont Township under the guidance
of Pastor G. Bernthal of Richville. In 1876 the completed their organization
becoming a corporation and a member of the Michigan Synod. From there
the history of this congregation is rich and wonderful, showing the
travails and triumphs of Christ people.
As you can see by the listing of the Pastors it was an interesting history. Many of the men, especially from 1907 to 1940 were Vacancy pastors serving Mayville and their home congregations. Then in 1940 things began to change for the better. A new church building located at First and Turner Streets in Mayville was purchased and the congregation moved into town. From there, God has blessed St. Paul with faithful servants of His Word and with people who desire to remain faithful to God and His Word. We invite you to come and visit us. Our goal here is very simple: To preach the gospel of our Lord Jesus Christ! We don't just preach about Jesus, we preach Him as the Risen Savior and atoning Sacrifice for our sins. He is our God and Lord who rules over all and who directs our path through His Holy written Word. Upon this Word we stand. We do not compromise the truth of God's Word nor of the Lutheran Confessions. If you can't come and visit us in person, then please go to our "Sermon" section and read the spiritual food we are served. Currently, St. Paul is also pursuing a building program. We hope to begin construction in the spring of 2005 with an addition of Sunday School classrooms, new office system, new fellowship area and barrier free access to the complete building. God has blessed us and we rejoice in His Holy Name. Any questions, please feel free to e-mail our Pastor. May God bless you!
